Manchester will play host to the Football Writing Festival, which returns to the city for a fourth time and will run from Wednesday, August 30 until Thursday, September 7.
It is the fourth time the annual event has been held.
Numerous events will take place those with a passion for reading about the Beautiful Game, with panellists including the likes of Joey Barton, the New York Times’ Rory Smith and Goal’s very own Peter Staunton.
Three venues will play host to the event, including Old Trafford’s Hotel Football, the National Football Museum and Waterstones Manchester Deansgate.
Among the most popular events is ‘The Blizzard – Live’, which will see a panel including Jonathan Wilson and Rory Smith discuss the hot footballing events of the day as the festival kicks off on August 30.
Meanwhile, investigative journalist David Conn will discuss corruption at the top level of the game in ‘The Fall of the House of FIFA’ on Thursday, August 31.
Among the other highlights are discussions on Sir Matt Busby and Bob Paisley, a look at statistics in the Premier League era and a study on the processes big clubs use to find young talent in ‘No Hunger in Paradise’.
September 1’s ‘How To Get Ahead In Online Journalism’, meanwhile, will include comment from Goal’s Peter Staunton, who will be among a panel sharing their experiences of digital media and the ever-changing landscape of how fans consume their news.
