Lebo Mothiba scored his first goal in the French Ligue 1 as Lille settled for a 2-2 draw with Nantes in Sunday’s league game.
The 22-year-old forward who returned to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy from Valenciennes on the January transfer deadline day was quick to impress Christophe Galtier with a goal after 67 minutes.
Claudio Ranieri’s men grabbed an early lead as Emiliano Sala’s 16th minute effort was the only the difference in the first half.
After the restart, Mothiba drew the visitors levelled in the 67th minute after connecting to Thiago Mendes’ corner with a header.
Four minutes later, Sala grabbed his brace to put the hosts ahead again before Nicolas Pepe’s 81st effort earned a vital point for Les Dogues.

The South Africa international was replaced in the 82nd minute while Nigeria’s Chidozie Awaziem was not available for the Canaries due to a groin injury.
Mothiba is now the first player to score in his first game with Lille in Ligue 1 since Divock Origi did so against Troyes in February 2013.
Lille have garnered 26 points from 25 games so far this season and they welcome fourth-placed Lyon to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy for their next league game on February 18.
