Juventus' Medhi Benatia pays tribute to departing Gianluigi Buffon

Medhi Benatia has paid tribute to Gianluigi Buffon who played his final game for Juventus on Saturday.

The 40-year-old was in action for 64 minutes as Massimiliano Allegri's side ended the season with a 2-1 win over Hellas Verona.

On Thursday, Buffon announced his departure from the Turin outfit after winning 11 Serie A and four Coppa Italia titles.

And the Morocco international has penned an emotional farewell message to the 'greatest champion he has ever played with'.

"It will be a very bad goodbye for me and for all of us. I don't know what to tell you. I just want to thank you for everything you've taught me thanks to your way of living, to be and to win," Benatia wrote Instagram.

"You were the greatest champion I've ever had the fortune to play with. A great person,  I'm going to miss you so much. I'm happy and proud to have played and won with you."
