Irvin Khoza: Orlando Pirates will beef up attack in January

Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza says they are looking to sharpen up their attack during the upcoming January Transfer Window.

The Soweto giants recently beefed up their squad with signing of Chippa United defenders Diamond Thopola and Phetso Maphanga.

Khoza told The Star that he is hopeful that Thopola and Maphanga will give them balance at the back hence they have shifted they focus to attaining a striker.

“We are no longer conceding goals like we did last season," Khoza said.

"Our technical team has instilled discipline at the back. We just wanted to find balance at the back because we were not 100 percent.

"We hope that Maphanga, and Diamond will give us that balance. We need to beef up upfront now,” he concluded.

The Buccaneers have been linked with SuperSport United forward Jeremy Brockie, Polokwane City strikers Thobani Mncwango, Rendani Ndou and Rodney Ramagalela ahead of next month's Transfer Window.

Maritzburg United marksman Evans Rusike and Mamelodi Sundowns forward Khama Billiat are also believed to be on the Bucs radar.
