Indian Super League 2016: Kerala Blasters' Cedric Hengbart signs for Maltese club Mosta FC

Cedric Hengbart, who was a regular fixture in Kerala Blasters' dream run to the final of the 2016 Indian Super League (ISL) season, has opted to join Maltese Premier League club Mosta FC till the end of the season.

Mosta FC plays in the topmost division of Malta, also known as BOV Premier League. The club is currently placed 11th in the 12-team league and are in danger of being relegated. The 36-year-old centre-back's arrival is expected to shore up their defence which has conceded 30 goals in just 17 games.

The former Auxerre and SM Caen defender was one of the most impressive players in the recently concluded ISL season and featured in almost every match for the Kerala Blasters. Apart from coming up with vital blocks and interceptions, the Frenchman also managed to make an impact at the other end and scored one goal and created a further two.

Mosta FC will be hoping that the mercurial Hengbart is able to breathe some life back into their stuttering campaign, just like he inspired The Tuskers from Kerala all the way to the ISL final.
