Selangor forwards were unable to find the back of the net in their Super League encounter against Sarawak on Tuesday, but thankfully defender Rizal Fahmi Rosid was able to find their equaliser, in a match which ended 1-1.

At the Sarawak Stadium, the visitors went behind in the 34th minute to Mateo Roskam's goal, but just 10 minutes later, Rizal struck from 30 meters out after dribbling closer towards the Sarawak penalty area. The effort hit the far post and went behind to level the scoreline, which remained until the final whistle.

"When I took the ball further up the pitch (from near the touchline), I did it with the intention of passing it to a teammate.

"But I found myself in a good position, my confidence grew, so I decided to go for it," the former Kelantan player told Goal.

The 31-year old defender was also elated that he was picked by head coach Maniam Pachaiappan to return to the starting lineup again. He last made an appearance for the Red Giants when he started in their 1-1 draw against Kedah in round seven.

"I am very happy that I got to return to the starting lineup.

"My goal has shown that I can make an impact to the team when I am picked," explained Rizal.
