CFL 2017: Mohun Bagan vs. Railway FC Preview - Green and Maroons eye full points against minnows

Mohun Bagan take on Railway FC in their second match of the Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2017 season at the Mohun Bagan on Friday evening. After a confidence boosting 3-0 win over Southern Samity, the Green and Maroon Brigade will be eyeing a second consecutive win to be in race for the title.

The club has failed to win the CFL for the past seven seasons, with arch-rivals East Bengal running away with the title in all these years. Bagan will be desperate this time to derail their rivals and bring back the trophy to the club.

Against Southern Samity in the previous match, the team looked unsettled in the first half but they came back strongly and scored three goals and bagged full three points. However, new foreign recruits Stephane Bayi Kamo and Ansumana Kromah had an average day on the field, though the latter scored a goal in the game and picked up the passing mark. But the former Churchill Brothers attacker did not attend practice on thursday due to a slight back injury.

Will Mumbai FC wind up operations?

Coach Shankarlal Chakraborty after the yesterday's training session confirmed, “Kromah did not train today as a precaution because we did not want the pain to increase ahead of tomorrow's match. We are monitoring his condition and will take a call on his availability tomorrow."

Bayi Kamo, on the other hand, did not have much impact against Southern. The Ivory Coast forward is yet to attain full fitness. The coach will be hoping his striker duo regain their form as soon as possible and fire together for the team.
