Bologna admit uncertainty over Donsah's future

Italian Serie A side Bologna are bracing up for a transfer battle over Ghana midfielder Godfred Donsah as the January transfer window beckons.

The 21-year-old has been linked to a host of top sides including Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, AS Roma and Fiorentina, and recent reports are that the Black Star is keen on a move away as he seeks to take his game to the next level.

“The player [Donsah] in Bologna is fine and it’s normal that a young man’s aspiration is to get on ever-more important stages,” Bologna sporting director Riccardo Bigon has said, as reported by Ghana Sports.

“Yes, but it is not always necessary to pass on words that are our desires and ambitions.

"Sometimes it just suffices to have a little more respect for society and the square in which you play and live, because the sincerity is good, but more importantly is the care of who supports you every day.

“Regardless of this, we are convinced that Donsah will make the most of each game as long as he is dressed in Bologna’s shirt, but the impression is that in January next year when he will reopen the market, his name will return to be the center of the cyclone."

Donsah joined Bologna from Cagliari in summer last year.

He has so far made 10 Serie A appearances, including eight starts, this campaign.

“His desire to stand up to high levels is obvious, as well as the possibility of a great club going ahead," Bigon added.

"The knife on the side of the handle however has the Bologna that will decide whether to give it, at the price it deems appropriate and without discounts."

Before joining Bologna, Donsah was heavily linked to English giants Manchester City.
