Steve Bruce's side can secure a top-six finish with victory on Friday evening, allowing them to focus on a late push for automatic promotion

Aston Villa will be looking to secure themselves a top-six finish in the Championship when they play host to Leeds on Friday evening.

Steve Bruce's side sit 10 points clear of seventh-placed Middlesbrough at present and will land at least a play-off berth with victory in their latest outing.

A welcome win would also allow them to keep piecing together a late charge for an automatic promotion spot, with second place behind leaders Wolves still up for grabs.

In contrast to the ambition being shown by Villa, Leeds are already destined for mid-table mediocrity after struggling for consistency throughout the 2017-18 campaign.
