There is, however, fierce competition for places at Parc des Princes and plenty of speculation to suggest that he is wanted elsewhere.

Arsenal have been linked with an approach for the France international for some time, while their north London rivals Tottenham are also said to be keen.

Real Madrid have been closely monitoring the youngster’s progress as well and may decide that 2017 is the year in which to make their move.

Rabiot insists he is giving little thought to such potential switches at present, but concedes that he is prepared to mull over any interesting bids once the transfer window re-opens.

He told Europe 1: "I am under contract until 2019 and I do not think I am in a rush. Honestly, I am not thinking about that.

"If there are offers from big clubs, that obviously demands that they are considered.

"Clubs like Real Madrid, they are truly great clubs but, truly, the most important thing is the present and I am concentrating on what I am doing right now, that is the best thing to do."

Rabiot has made 25 appearances for PSG in all competitions this season, helping to keep them in contention for another domestic crown while also pushing for success in the Champions League.
