Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Tottenham are off the mark in the Champions League with a 3-1 victory this evening over Borussia Dortmund. Harry Kane scored a brace, while Son Heung-min also got on the scoresheet. The German club will feel unfortunate to be leaving without a point as they saw a strike from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang disallowed for offside. The referee then sent off Jan Vertonghen at the death for a second bookable offence. The dismissal will have annoyed Mauricio Pochettino, but his side have the three points and more importantly have won at Wembley for the first time this season.

The Belgian catches Gotze with his hand, but not deliberately as he attempts to ward the midfielder off. Gotze's reaction did not help matters as he clutched his face after falling to the ground. The officials have not had a good night here.
90' There will be four minutes of added time.

Tottenham Hotspur FC
83' Sissoko replaces Son for the home side.

80' WIDE! Kane spurns the chance for a hat-trick as he collects Eriksen's nodded ball over the top, but he can only pull his left-footed volley wide of the post.
D. Zagadou
Ö. Toprak
BV Borussia 09 Dortmund
80' Toprak makes way for Zagadou.
78' A rare period of calm allows Tottenham to take valuable time off the clock. Dortmund look jaded at the back, which could open up further opportunities for the home side.
76' OVER! Tottenham have another opening to kill off the contest as Kane raids forward. He cuts the ball back to Eriksen on the edge of the box who strikes on his left foot, only to hammer his shot over the bar.
75' Kane has been active in both boxes this evening and he displays the defensive side of his game by clearing away Gotze's cross from the left flank.
73' Aggressive defending from the visitors is almost their downfall again. Sokratis rushes out of the line and exposes the flanks and the middle. Kane has Son free in the middle, but Toprak makes a vital block to stop the cross.
G. Castro
M. Dahoud
BV Borussia 09 Dortmund
72' Dahoud makes way for Castro.
72' OVER! Eriksen lifts the resulting corner into the box, although his first delivery is cleared, he gets a second opportunity. The Dane lifts the ball towards the penalty spot where Alderweireld heads at goal, only to direct his effort over the bar.
71' BLOCK! Son has the chance to kill off the contest, but he cannot shake off Toljan in the final third. The defender does enough to block his strike from the right inside channel.
70' SAVE! Aubabmeyang is denied again! Gotze's corner is flicked to the back post where the striker meets the ball first time. His effort has power and accuracy, but not enough to beat Lloris who saves well on his line.
69' Tottenham have improved in their pressing in the second half and are beginning to force Dortmund back towards their own goal. Pochettino will be delighted with that aspect as his team were too deep in the first half.
67' SAVE! Eriksen lifts a cross to the back post for the run of Davies. The Welshman brings the ball down before rifling an effort towards the bottom corner. Burki makes the save but palms the ball out into the box. Fortunately for him it lands at the feet of Toprak, who clears the danger.
66' Vertonghen goes on the charge down the left flank to latch on to Davies' ball over the top, but Sokratis is there to send the ball into touch.
M. Götze
S. Kagawa
BV Borussia 09 Dortmund
66' Kagawa makes way for Gotze.
64' Kagawa has an opportunity to send the ball in from the right flank from a corner, but Spurs clear their lines with ease. They've played with more control at the back in the second half the home side.
62' Dortmund will be feeling sick after the last five minutes of play. They should have been level, only to be robbed by the linesman. At the other end Kane has put Spurs in control, although there's still plenty of time yet to salvage a point.

60' GOALLLLLL!!!! KANE HAS HIS SECOND!!!  Tottenham had a let-off at the other end and have taken full advantage as Kane gives them a two-goal cushion this evening. He pulls off his marker on the left flank before collecting a short pass from Eriksen. He gets the ball out of his feet before firing a left-footed strike into the bottom corner that takes a slight deflection off Piszczek to beat Burki's hand.
59' OVER! Aubameyang goes for the strike from the resulting free-kick, but he hammers his effort well over the bar.
J. Vertonghen
Yellow Card
Tottenham Hotspur FC
58' Vertonghen goes into the book for bringing down Yarmolenko. He's taken one for the team there as Dortmund had numbers forward.
56' DISALLOWED GOAL! For the second time in the game Dortmund have a goal disallowed and this one is a horrendous decision from the linesman. Dahoud lifts the ball to the back post and Aubameyang strikes it on the half-volley perfectly to find the net. However, his celebrations are cut short by the officials. That could be a costly decision.
54' Son puts Sokratis under serious pressure at the back and the Greek offloads just in time, allowing Burki to clear the danger.
53' Tottenham are starting to ask serious questions of the Dortmund backline. A goal here would put them in command of the match.
51' CHANCE! Spurs are in behind again as Eriksen releases Kane into the right channel. Son races forward in support and Kane picks him out on the edge of the box. The South Korean takes a touch to bring it under control before striking on his right foot, only to smash his effort over the bar.
51' OVER! Kane has space and time in the box, but he snatches at the shot and blasts his effort over the bar. Unusual for the England forward.
50' CHANCE! Sanchez slips as Piszczek sends the ball behind the Spurs' backline. Aubameyang is through on goal, but Lloris races off his line to clear ahead of the forward. The Frenchman just got there in time.
48' Dier wins possession in the Dortmund half and drives into the final third before offloading to Aurier. The Ivorian has options in the box, but he fires his cross straight at Burki.
47' The game is restarted after Toprak is able to get to his feet and continue.
46' Toprak gets smacked in the face by the ball from his own team-mate Sahin. He goes down which brings the game to a halt.
46' We're back underway at Wembley.
The players are back out for the second half, so we should be underway again shortly.
Tottenham lead 2-1 at the break against Borussia Dortmund, despite being on the back foot for the majority of the first half. Son Heung-min put Spurs ahead in the fourth minute with a stunning strike from a tight angle, but Andriy Yarmolenko scored an equally impressive goal to level the score. Harry Kane restored the home side's lead with the game's third well-taken goal. Since then Peter Bosz's men have come close to a second equaliser, but Spurs have held firm at the back.
HALF-TIME: TOTTENHAM 2-1 BORUSSIA DORTMUND
45' The referee ends the first half.
45' DISALLOWED GOAL! Spurs fail to clear the danger as Dortmund camp in their penalty area for a minute. Lloris' goal is under siege before Aubameyang knocks the ball to Pulisic to fire between the legs of the Frenchman and into the net, but the goal is chalked off for offside against the Gabonese.
42' OFFSIDE! Son gets in behind the Dortmund backline as he latches on to Aurier's throughball. Burki comes racing off his line to make the tackle but misses completely. However, the offside flag bails out the visitors' keeper.
41' Tottenham soak up the pressure at the back and Kane launches the ball forward beyond him for Eriksen's lung-bursting run, but Burki comes off his line to clear ahead of the Dane.
40' Pulisic lifts a cross to the back post and under pressure from Yarmolenko, Davies glances the ball behind for a corner.
38' Spurs are trying to establish a possession game, but the pressure from the German side has prevented that from occuring so far.
36' CHANCE! Sanchez loses possession and Piszczek slides the ball to Aubameyang. The forward fires the ball across the face of goal, but he fails to pick out Pulisic unmarked at the back post. The midfielder stretches, but he can only poke the ball wide of the post.
E. Dier
Yellow Card
Tottenham Hotspur FC
36' Dier is booked for a strong challenge on Sokratis. A harsh one for the midfielder as he won the ball.
34' Dortmund should be level as Aubameyang edges between Sanchez and Vetonghen, but Kagawa overplays the throughball to the Gabonese, allowing Lloris to gather at the forward's feet. Frustrating for the visitors.
32' Pulisic has been influential thus far this evening and he starts another attack at the Spurs goal, but Toljan's effort from his pass is blocked by Aurier.
31' Aurier takes a risk at the back as he knocks the ball around Pulisic in his own box. It works for the Ivorian, but he might not get so fortunate next time around.
30' CLOSE! Pulisic latches on to a loose ball in the final third and speeds past Alderweireld. The American slides the ball across the face of goal, but Vertonghen on the slide stops the ball from reaching Aubameyang for a certain goal. Excellent defending from the Belgian.
29' Dortmund have enjoyed 67% possession in the first quarter of the game, but for all their possession they're trailling the home side.
28' Sahin whips a dangerous cross to the back post, but Vertonghen is there to head the ball behind and away from Aubameyang.
27' Dortmund are playing the highest of high lines, sitting just inside Tottenham's half. A simple ball over the top almost finds the run of Son before Piszczek intervenes.
26' Alderweireld has had a strong start to the contest and he continues by dispossessing Pulisic on the flank and knocking the ball back to Lloris.
24' Toprak comes over the top of Kane to win the ball in the air and hits the deck hard. The referee awards a free-kick to the visitors just inside the Spurs' half.
23' Dortmund have settled into a passing rhythm at the back and Spurs seem content to sit in their own half before applying pressure on the ball.
21' A period of calm in the game after a frenetic start to the contest. Both sides look very threatening in the final third and vulnerable at the back. There should be more goals in this one.
19' WIDE! Pulisic collects and looks up on the edge of the Tottenham box. Without support he goes for the drive at goal, only to see his effort deflected wide of the post.
17' Tottenham regain their momentum and Son almost threads his pass through to Eriksen, but Toprak makes the interception on the edge of the box.
H. Kane
Goal
Tottenham Hotspur FC
15' GOALLLLLL!!!! KANE RESTORES TOTTENHAM'S LEAD! The England striker fires Spurs back in front this evening and it's another super effort - almost a repeat of Son's opener. Kane bursts past two defenders, including Sahin who went down looking for a free-kick. However, the referee waved play on and the forward raided into the box before hammering an effort past Burki at his near post. Questions will be asked of the Dortmund keeper for those goals, but it was still well struck by Kane.

Kagawa plays the ball to the midfielder on the edge of the box and he curls a sublime effort beyond the reach of Lloris into the top corner with his left foot. A super strike from the Ukrainian.
11' Dortmund probe down the left as Pulisic raids forward. He picks out Toljan to deliver a cross into the box, but Davies heads the ball away from Yarmolenko.
9' Alderweireld is there again for the home side as Piszczek fires a low ball across the face of goal, but the Belgian clears at the near post ahead of Aubameyang.
8' Pulisic takes the ball out of the air in the final third, but Alderweireld is there to cover and he sends his pass back to Lloris to clear the danger.
6' Pressure on the Spurs backline as Pulisic and Aubameyang probe in the box, but the home side get enough men behind the ball to stop an effort at goal.
H. Kane

4' GOALLLLLLLL!!!! WHAT A START FOR SPURS! Son opens the scoring with a stunner from a tight angle as he blasts the ball past Burki. The home side caught Dortmund on the counter as Kane released the midfielder down the left flank. He drove into the box and hammered his effort past the Dortmund keeper at the near post, finding the back of the net. Just the start Spurs needed.
2' Sokratis almost dwells on the ball too long and Eriksen closes him down, but the defender gets the ball away just in time.
1' We're underway at Wembley.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.

Die Schwarzgelben had won their previous three contests to start the term, and they will be keen to bounce back to their peak form this evening.
Dortmund have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, although they were frustrated last time out in their goalless draw against Freiburg. Their opponents were reduced to 10 men for the majority of the contest, but Peter Bosz's men were unable to secure the win.
They struggled in the Champions League last season, especially at Wembley where they lost to Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen. Mauricio Pochettino's men will be determined to start on the front foot this time around.
Tottenham have had a solid start to the season, notching two wins over Newcastle and Everton. However, their perceived issues at their temporary home Wembley have persisted this term. Spurs lost their opener against Chelsea, while they could only draw against Burnley.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Champions League clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.
