Zesco United arrived in the small Island nation on February 5 ready to kick-off their continental assignment with the soldiers from Zanzibar in a match set to be staged at Amaan Stadium.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides though a star-studded Zesco United remains the favorite ahead of kick-off.
Coach Tenant Chembo has been boosted with the return to action of midfielders John Chingandu and Misheck Chaila, who were ruled out of the 2018 Chan Champions with Zambia national team Chipolopolo owing to injuries.
Zesco United will also have in their ranks, club’s all-time top scorer, Jackson Mwanza, who will be hunting for his 60th goal against JKU.
Other notable names in the Team Ya Ziko squad are Kenyan trio of striker Jesse Were, defender David Owino and midfielder Anthony Akumu as well as Lazarous Kambole and Fackson Kapumba, who starred for Zambia in the just ended Chan Championship.
Zesco United became the first Zambian club to qualify for the Caf Champions League Group stage in 2009.
Little known JKU, on the other hand, are venturing into continental stage for the first time in two years, same as Zesco United, who took part in the second tier, Caf Confederation Cup last year.
This is the sixth time that Zesco United will be taking part in the Africa top club competition.
