The Liverpool star speaks about the Teranga Lions' ambitions at the World Cup

Senegal talisman Sadio Mane is confident in their chances of progressing from their "tough" group at the World Cup which kicks off on Thursday in Russia.

On their second appearance at the global fiesta, the Teranga Lions will play in Group H, which also houses Poland, Japan and Colombia.

It is the side's return to the World Cup since a quarterfinal finish on their debut at Korea/Japan 2002.

“Poland, Japan, Colombia – that’s a tough group," Mane said, as reported by The Mirror

"But you have to believe in yourself and believe in what you are doing all the time.

“You try to do the job all together and hopefully we will qualify from the group.

“Honestly, personally, I don’t know the word ‘pressure’ because I enjoy my job all the time.

“The main man all the time is the Senegal team, which makes us really good.”
