Messi, Ronaldo or Suarez: Who tops readers' poll for best forward?

All three of the star forwards shone for their teams last season but who have Goal readers picked as the standout individual?
Cristiano Ronaldo has dominated the vote in Goal's poll of the best forwards in the 2013-14 season, picking up 40.7 per cent of the vote.

The Portuguese attacker shone for Real Madrid throughout the campaign, helping them to both Copa del Rey glory and their record 10th Champions League title.

The next most popular choice was Luis Suarez, whose heroics took Liverpool to within touching distance of the Premier League title and won him a move to Barcelona. The controversial Uruguayan landed 30.6% of the vote.

He beat out his new team-mate at Camp Nou, Lionel Messi, who struggled with injuries throughout the 2013-14 campaign and ended the season trophyless, but led Argentina to the World Cup final, giving him 13.8%.

The South American pair and Ronaldo are way ahead of their competitors in the vote. Diego Costa came out a distant fourth with 3.6%, with his goals helping Atletico Madrid win La Liga and earned him a move to Chelsea.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was next, with 3.1%, having enjoyed spectacular form in front of goal and helping Paris Saint Germain to their second consecutive Ligue 1 title.

Bayern Munich duo Arjen Robben and Thomas Muller round off a star-studded top six, both picking up 2.3% of the vote, having completed a domestic double, while the latter helped Germany win the World Cup.
