Stoke City - Liverpool Betting Preview: Why the Potters should be backed at the Britannia Stadium

Stoke City - Liverpool Betting Preview: Why the Potters should be backed at the Britannia Stadium

Latest West Ham United-Tottenham Hotspur Betting Preview: Brilliant Bale can inspire Spurs again Previous

Phil Kitromilides believes given Stoke's superb home record, the wise money will be invested in backing them in the "Draw No Bet" market against the Reds on Boxing Day

The late game on Boxing Day sees Liverpool travel to the Britannia Stadium to face a Stoke City side who are on an impressive run of form.

Tony Pulis' men have gone nearly two months without suffering defeat, picking up four wins and four draws in their last eight matches, yet William Hill price them as the 21/10 (3.10) outsiders to claim a victory.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have recorded four wins in their last five matches in all competitions and are offered at 13/10 (2.30) with the draw available at 11/5 (3.20).

If Stoke's recent run has shown how difficult they are to beat, their record at home is indicative of just what a fortress the Britannia has become.

The Potters remain unbeaten there in their last 15 league matches and a Liverpool side with just two wins from eight on the road this season could struggle to make an impact.

Backing a Stoke win or a draw at 8/13 (1.63) could therefore be of interest to punters looking to invest in the game and Stoke's rock solid home form makes them a decent bet.

Yet for some slightly higher odds backing Stoke "Draw No Bet" at 13/10 (2.30) looks like a more attractive option, especially considering they have won four of their last six home matches and their last home defeat in the league came at the start of February. This market means if the match ends level then you receive your stake back.

Furthermore, Stoke have won this fixture in each of the last two seasons, while Liverpool have failed to come away with a victory from each of their last four visits to the Britannia.

For a value bet back the Potters to win and keep a clean sheet at 4/1 (5.00), a selection which has paid out in the last two league meetings between the sides at Stoke.
