West Ham United - Liverpool Betting Preview: Home advantage key for happy Hammers

West Ham United - Liverpool Betting Preview: Home advantage key for happy Hammers

Latest Atletico Madrid-Espanyol Betting Preview: Why one of the sides will keep a clean sheet in the game Previous

Sam Allardyce's men recorded a fine home win over Chelsea last weekend and Willie Duncan is backing them to follow up by claiming three points against Brendan Rodgers' Reds

West Ham United produced a superb second half display to see off Chelsea last weekend and will be hoping for a repeat of that performance when the Hammers welcome Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool side to Upton Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Hammers have lost just one of their eight home Premier League fixtures thus far this term and they are available at a juicy 2/1 (3.0) with Paddy Power to enjoy victory over the Reds this weekend.

Liverpool laboured to a 1-0 victory over Southampton last weekend – their first win in four outings – and, with just one win on the road in the Premier League this season, this looks like another tough assignment for the visitors.

Nevertheless, they are Paddy Power’s favourites at 11/8 (2.38) to pick up three points here. The same firm offer 23/10 (3.30) that the match ends in a draw.

Former Reds striker Andy Carroll is again missing for the Hammers so Carlton Cole, who scored the crucial equaliser for his side against Chelsea last weekend, is likely to lead the line for Sam Allardyce’s side here.

He can backed at Paddy Power’s 7/1 (8.0) quote to bag the first goal of the game while captain Kevin Nolan, who is the Hammers’ top scorer so far this season, is available at 8/1 (9.0) with Paddy Power to break the deadlock.

Liverpool are without the in-form Luis Suarez for Sunday’s clash, with the Uruguay international suspended for this clash and so Rodgers may opt to deploy Jonjo Shelvey as a striker here.

The winger, who is still looking for his first league goal of the campaign, is available at 7/1 (8.0) with Paddy Power to break his duck with the opening goal on Sunday while the Reds’ talismanic midfielder Steven Gerrard can also be backed at 7/1 (8.0) with Paddy Power to score first.

West Ham’s strong home record combined with the absence of Liverpool’s top scorer Suarez points to another difficult afternoon for the Reds here.

The chunky 2/1 (3.0) quote from Paddy Power for the Hammers to enjoy another home victory is the recommended play while the juicy 8/1 (9.0) quote from the same firm for West Ham's inspirational captain Kevin Nolan to get the ball rolling with the opening goal is the value selection here.
