Simon Pilkington is pleased with how last week went and is already eyeing up an ambitious treble, plus he's backing Michael Laudrup's Swansea side to beat West Ham on Saturday
From a betting perspective it was a good one too as despite the relatively minimal profit, at the end of the day, with no form to go on and no real trends to base an opinion on, a small profit has to be seen as a success. Whilst Borini failed to find the net for Liverpool, Southampton did the business against City and the 'both to score' bet came in, proving a lot of naysayers wrong along the way.

As we are still at the start of the season and it’s still incredibly tough to accurately predict games, I’m going to keep things relatively conservative again, but believe that there is value out there to get involved with.
Swansea to beat West Ham: £25 at 11/10 (2.10) with Paddy Power
My first bet comes in the first Premier league game of the day where Swansea City take on West Ham at the Liberty Stadium.
Both sides recorded wins in their first games, with the Swans demolishing QPR away from home, whilst the Hammers got a 1-0 victory at home to a relatively poor-looking Aston Villa side.
From Swansea’s perspective you can argue that QPR were dismal and disorganised and, well, yes, they were - but you can’t take anything away from Swansea. The fact is that they played excellent counter-attacking and passing football like much of last season.
Michael Laudrup has got his team well-organised and looking to play with the ball on the floor, and at a rapid pace – he has the players to do it as well and has added to the squad, with Michu netting two goals last week. At 11/10 (2.10) with Paddy Power at home to a newly-promoted and not particularly mobile side in West Ham, I will be getting £25 of my bankroll on this.
Football League Treble: Blackpool, Burnley, Notts County all to win at 9/1 (10.0) with Paddy Power
I’m moving down the divisions for my second and final bet of the weekend and I’m going to change things up a little with a cheeky treble across the Championship and League One. The treble pays out at around 9/1 (10.0) with Paddy Power at time of writing and involves Blackpool and Burnley from the Championship and Notts County from League One.
Blackpool are the only side in the Championship left with a perfect record, having two wins from two under their belt.
Holloway’s side narrowly missed out on promotion last year and he’ll have them fired up to do it this year. Ipswich have amassed 4 points so far, scraping a 1-0 result late against Watford on Tuesday. The home advantage for Blackpool is enough for me to get them in the bet at 10/11 (1.91).
Burnley, away to Huddersfield, have been decent so far this season under the guidance of Eddie Howe, however, they have won one and lost one so far – narrowly going down to Middlesbrough, yet beating local rivals Bolton convincingly on the opening day.
Huddersfield have only taken one point from six, losing out to Cardiff and grinding out a result against Forest. For me, the attacking, passing style that Howe adopts, will be slightly too much for Huddersfield and Burnley will come out on top at 19/10 (2.90).
Notts County have won both their games so far in League One whilst their opponents Walsall have only taken one point to date and always seem to find themselves fighting to be safe come the end of the season. County won 13 games at home last season whilst Walsall only recorded three victories on the road and I think the home side will be too strong here at 8/13 (1.62).
There you have it; three teams paying out a combined 9/1 (10.0) at Paddy Power and I’m putting £5 of the bankroll on this treble, meaning a total of £30 will be punted this weekend.
Good luck if you are getting involved in the markets this weekend and of course, don't forget we've got a £20 free bet to give away each week thanks to Paddy Power.
