Per Olsson’s side are four points adrift of Syrianska in the lower reaches of the league table and currently occupy the relegation play-off spot but are chalked up at 13/8 (2.63) with William Hill to beat Djurgarden on Friday and close the gap on their rivals.
The visitors won their last fixture against GIF Sundsvall but that represented a first win in six matches for Magnus Pehrsson’s side, and they are priced up as narrow favourites at 6/4 (2.50), with William Hill to pick up three points on Friday while the same firm go 11/5 (3.20) that the match finishes all square.
The stalemate certainly carries plenty of appeal here when it is considered that no fewer than 11 of Djurgarden’s 18 league matches thus far this term have ended in a draw, while Gefle have drawn seven of their 18 league matches this season.
Shot-shy Gefle have managed just 14 goals in Allsvenskan this season but have conceded just nine goals at home this term so the 6/10 (1.60) on offer from William Hill for fewer than three goals to be scored looks like an excellent play here.
A tight match can be expected here with the firm offering odds of 7/1 (8.0) for a 1-0 home win while the same firm goes 6/1 (7.0) that the away side wins by a 1-0 scoreline.
Draw backers will be tempted by the 15/2 (8.50) that the match ends without a goal but the 11/2 (6.50) that the two sides play out a 1-1 draw is much more appealing here given that Djurgarden have scored 22 and conceded 21 in their league outings this season.
Neither side has been in convincing form this season and the recommended play is the draw at 11/5 (3.20) with William Hill.
