Longford Town earned a deserved 2-0 win over Cockhill Celtic at the Charlie O’Donnell Sports Grounds to book their place in tomorrow’s FAI Cup quarter-final draw.
The SSE Airtricity Premier Division side made the breakthrough just past the hour-mark as James Bradley put through his own net. Lorcan Shannon added a second with only minutes remaining to put the result beyond any doubt.
Longford will be aiming to add to their domestic honours list as they chase a third FAI Cup triumph. Tony Cousins’ side last won the famous trophy back in 2004, when they beat Waterford United 2-1 at Lansdowne Road.
The quarter-final draw for the 2015 FAI Cup will take place this Sunday at 14:30.
