Shelbourne-St Patrick's Athletic postponed due to floodlight failure

The FAI Ford Cup replay has been rescheduled to Monday, September 1 after a fault with the lighting at Tolka Park
The FAI Ford Cup third round replay between Shelbourne and St Patrick's Athletic has been rescheduled for Monday, September 1 after floodlight failure caused Tuesday night's game to be postponed.

The Football Association of Ireland confirmed that the original match could not take place at Tolka Park due to a "blown transformer in the generator which knocked out the lights on four of the eight pylons", stating that "while there was sufficient light to commence the game it would not have been possible to play it to a finish."

The Dublin sides played out a 1-1 draw at Richmond Park, but will now have to play again on September 1 to see which team will advance to an FAI Ford Cup quarter-final clash with Bohemians.

The winner of the replay will host the last eight game, which is due to take place on the weekend ending Sunday, September 14.
