On-loan Middlesbrough goalkeeper Shay Given has expressed his pleasure after making his debut for the club.

The shot-stopper kept a clean sheet as Boro held on for a 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday and Given, who was making his 600th club appearance, hailed it as a "perfect day."

Writing on his Twitter account, the 37-year-old said: "Great to be back in action today... [and] also to make my 600th club [appearance]. A clean sheet but more importantly the three points made a perfect day."

Given joined Championship side Middlesbrough on a month-long loan deal from Aston Villa, prior to the deadline for emergency loans.

Meanwhile, Championship outfit Yeovil Town have extended Shane Duffy's loan by another month.

The 21-year-old Everton defender joined the club on an initial one-month loan deal in September and has since been a permanent fixture in the heart of the Glovers' defence.
