Aston Villa defender Enda Stevens has joined English Championship side Doncaster Rovers on loan until January 1.

The 23-year-old has agreed to join up with Paul Dickov's side on a month-long deal ahead of the deadline for emergency loans.

Stevens, who is a former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, was previously on loan at Notts County, where he made four appearances, before returning to Aston Villa.

Elsewhere, Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Aaron McCarey has joined League Two outfit York City on a month-long loan.

The 21-year-old recently agreed a new two-and-a-half year contract with the club that will come into effect on December 1.
