The former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper has agreed a one-month deal at the Riverside Stadium after falling out of favour at Aston Villa
The 37-year-old has moved to the Riverside Stadium on a temporary one-month loan, after Boro's first choice goalkeeper Jason Steele was banned for three games. Steele received a straight red card against Leeds United, and will miss Boro's upcoming clashes with Bolton Wanderers, Derby County, and Birmingham City.
Given has not played for Villa in 10 months, and has falled behind Brad Guzan and Jed Steer in the pecking order under Paul Lambert. The 135-time Ireland international is expected to slot straight into Middlesbrough's matchday squad for Saturday's home tie with Bolton Wanderers.
