Injury rules Andy Reid out of Poland clash

The Nottingham Forest midfielder has been forced to pull out of the Ireland squad ahead of the friendly encounter in Poznan after picking up an injury
Andy Reid has withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of their friendly game against Poland.

The Nottingham Forest midfielder came on as a second half substitute in Ireland's 3-0 win over Latvia on Friday but will play no part in the trip to Poznan as the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) confirmed that he had returned to his club owing to a hamstring injury sustained during Saturday morning's training session in Malahide.

A number of other players were assessed on Saturday, with West Ham defender Joey O'Brien sitting out the session, while Leicester City centre back Sean St Ledger has also emerged as a doubt ahead of the game on Tuesday.

New Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has indicated that he will make several changes to the squad that started against Latvia when the Boys in Green take on the White Eagles on November 19.
