The Republic of Ireland manager has chosen his final 23-man panel for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers with Sweden and Austria

Giovanni Trapattoni has announced his final squad for the upcoming Fifa World Cup qualifiers with Sweden with Austria, with Paddy Madden and David Meyler missing the cut from the preliminary panel.

Madden is unavailable for selection after picking up a knee injury, while Hull City midfielder David Meyler is the unfortunate player to be placed on the standby list. Jeff Hendrick, Joey O'Brien, Aiden McGeady, and Sean St Ledger had previously withdrawn due to injury.

O'Brien is set to play for club West Ham United this weekend, but will undergo treatment on a knee injury during the international window.

The Republic of Ireland face Sweden in Dublin on September 6 and Austria in Vienna on September 10.
