thumbnail Hello,

The Lilywhites' top goal-scorer has expressed his ambition to finish the season top of the league and with a cup-winner's medal

Dundalk striker Patrick Hoban has declared his desire to "win everything" with the Lilywhites this season.

Hoban believes that Stephen Kenny's team can win the Airtricity Premier Division title as well as the FAI Cup this season and said that there was "no point" in thinking otherwise.

The 22-year-old Galway native recently picked up the Airtricity Player of the Month award for July and is the club's leading goalscorer this season, scoring most recently in the 2-0 victory over 2012 league champions Sligo Rovers at Oriel Park.

That result means that Dundalk are currently just one point behind league-leaders St Patrick's Athletic, having played one game more than Liam Buckley's side.

"We have to finish first," he told the Dundalk Democrat. "There is absolutely no point thinking about anything else for us now."

Dundalk will welcome Limerick to Oriel Park in the quarter final of the FAI Cup on Friday August 23 and Hoban is upbeat about his side's chances, despite failing to defeat the Shannonsiders in two league fixtures this season.

"I want to win everything this year and everything is there for us so we have to go for it. It is all in front of us and we will keep giving our all to do it," he continued.

"Limerick come here in the cup [on Friday] and we will be looking to win in that too because we are not just in that for the laugh of it. I want to win everything this season."

Dundalk take on Limerick in the FAI Cup quarter final on Friday August 23. Kick off 19:45 BST.
