thumbnail Hello,

The Ireland striker grabbed a goal and assisted another as the Championship side recorded a comfortable win against Bohs

Derby County were comfortable winners at Dalymount Park, easing past their League of Ireland opponents as they continued their preparation for the 2013-14 Championship season.

New signing Johnny Russell scored either side of a Chris Lyons goal to give the visitors the lead at the interval. Russell finished from Michael Jacobs' cross to give the Rams the lead before heading in the second. Teenager Mason Bennet crossed in for the second, on an impressive afternoon for the 16-year-old. The hosts worked hard and deserved their equaliser, with Lyons scoring with a driven shot from the edge of the area, after Dinny Corcoran did well to bring the striker into the game.

Derby were much the better side in the second half after sending on a totally changed XI, bringing on Irish internationals Conor Sammon and Jeff Henderick. The former UCD striker excelled for the visitors, and provided the ball for Ben Davies' goal, a minute after Callum Ball had added to Derby's tally. Paul Coutts extended the lead with an excellent long-range shot before Sammon leapt highest to head home from a corner.

The Rams take on Port Vale in their next friendly, while Bray's sights return to domestic action.
