The Republic of Ireland international has revealed his delight after signing a two-year contract extension with the Premier League club

Hull City defender Paul McShane has signed a new two-year contract ahead of the forthcoming season.

McShane initially joined the Tigers on loan in August 2008 before moving to the club permanently in 2009 and has made 98 appearances during his time at the KC Stadium.

Speaking to the club's official website, the 27-year-old Republic of Ireland international expressed his delight at signing a new deal and said that he was looking forward to the beginning of the new season.

"I'm delighted to sign a new deal," said McShane. "Last season was such a great season and then I got offered the new contract. I couldn't wait to come in and get it signed and now I can just get on with looking forward to the new season."

Wicklow-born McShane began his career at Manchester United before joining West Bromich Albion in 2006. He signed for Sunderland in 2007 before joining Hull City.
