FAI releases list of approved friendly matches

Proposed matches between Irish clubs and their British counterparts have been given the go ahead for this summer
The Football Association of Ireland has approved 22 friendly matches between League of Ireland clubs and visiting teams from England and Scotland during July and August.

Airtricity League sides will play host to English Premier Division sides Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester United, and West Ham United, while a Glasgow Celtic XI are pencilled in to play Cork City at the end of August.

Celtic have also scheduled a fixture against Liverpool at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday August 10, as the English and Scottish sides prepare for their 2013-14 league campaigns.
