Longford Town and Cork City have announced summer friendlies against a Glasgow Celtic XI to take place in July.
First Division side Longford will welcome the Scottish Premier League champions on July 18, before the Bhoys take on Cork at Turners Cross on July 21. Celtic then face Liverpool in a pre-season fixture at the Aviva Stadium in August, which has been promoted as 'The Dublin Decider'.
Celtic last played in Ireland back in July 2011 when they faced an Airtricity League Select at the Aviva Stadium. Anthony Stokes and Gary Hooper both scored twice in a 5-0 win over their League of Ireland opponents, which featured the likes of Ryan McBride, Danny Ventre, Daniel Kearns, and the exciting young winger James McClean.
Current Dundalk midfielder Richie Towell was in the Celtic starting XI on that occasion, as well as fellow Irishmen Darren O'Dea and Daryl Murphy.
