Aaron McCarey included in Ireland squad for Spain game

The Wolves goalkeeper has been called up as goalkeeping cover with Keiren Westwood ruled out with a shoulder injury
Giovanni Trapattoni has named a 19-man panel for the Republic of Ireland's upcoming friendly with Spain at New York's Yankee Stadium. Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Aaron McCarey has been included in the senior squad for the first time.

The Wolves goalkeeper has been recruited from Noel King's under-21s as cover for Keiren Westwood, who misses out with a foot injury. Trapattoni will also be without Marc Wilson (calf), Jon Walters (knee), Aiden McGeady (wedding), Wes Hoolahan (foot), Glenn Whelan (rest), as well as Richard Dunne who is set to talk to clubs about his future. John O'Shea has also been given permission to stay in Ireland following the death of his uncle in Waterford.

The Republic of Ireland face Spain on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium at 01:00 BST.
