The Hoops have been performing below expections in the league this season but Croly is hoping for a positive response to recent defeats against the league leaders
The Hoops have suffered two successive defeats in the league and find themselves in eighth position with 12 points from their opening 10 games. Indeed, Rovers have have not won in four games since defeating Bray Wanderers 7-0 nearly a month ago on April 12.
Nevertheless, Trevor Croly says that the clash with the league leaders will be a "great game" and is hoping that there will be a positive atmosphere at Tallaght Stadium.
"It's a great game and one that I'm sure both clubs are looking forward to," he told the club's official website. "This is the kind of fixture that both players and fans look for at the start of the season.
"It looks like the weather is going to be good, so hopefully there will be a big crowd and a good atmosphere on the night.
"We were disappointed with the result last week and we will be looking to turn that around starting on Friday night."
Former Sligo Rovers trio Jason McGuinness, Mark Quigley and Richard Brush could feature against the Bit o' Red, but doubts remain over Quigley, who is struggling with a hamstring injury.
Sligo Rovers winger Aaron Greene, meanwhile, will face his former team after making the switch to the Showgrounds at the start of the season.
