Since swapping Tallaght for Inchicore at the beginning of 2013, Killian Brennan has flourished and his talismanic presence was abundantly evident at Richmond Park on Friday, April 19, as St Patrick's Athletic ended Sligo Rovers' 100 per cent start to the Airtricity Premier Division league season.

The 29-year-old was composed in the Saints' midfield and alongside Greg Bolger and John Russell, allowed the Bit o'Red little time on the ball in the middle of the park. Acting as a crucial creative outlet for Liam Buckley's side throughout the tie, Brennan was the architect of numerous St Pat's attacks and the midfielder came close to scoring when he tested Gary Rogers with a superb volley in the second half.

However, it was his deftly-taken penalty in the closing stages of the encounter for which he will be remembered in this game. After Evan McMillan fouled Conan Byrne in the box, Brennan nonchalantly stepped up and mischievously chipped the ball into the back of the net past a despairing Rogers.
