The Republic of Ireland under-21 international was the key man in the Saints' crucial away victory over Bray Wanderers, bagging the only goal of the game
LEAGUE OF IRELAND PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHRIS FORRESTER| ST PATRICK'S ATHLETIC
After a stuttering start to the season, Liam Buckley's Saints were in desperate need of all three points when they visited the Carlisle Grounds and Forrester's brilliantly taken goal half-way through the first period was enough for the visitors to record their third victory of the season.
Forrester topped off a tremendous debut season with St Patrick's Athletic last campaign when he was crowned the PFAI Young Player of the Year for 2012. The 20-year-old is a wonderfully skilful attacking player capable of playing across the midfield and behind the striker and he showed all his quality against the Seagulls.
The Republic of Ireland U21 international expertly controlled Kenny Browne's cross-field ball before composing himself to lob helpless Bray goalkeeper Darren Quigley. Playing on the left hand side of a five man midfield, Forrester caused the Bray defence problems all evening and with some better finishing from his team mates, he would have added a couple of assists to his name.
