Ireland to play Spain in June at Yankee Stadium - report

The Boys in Green will fulfil only one fixture on their end-of-season excursion across the Atlantic
Giovanni Trapattoni's Republic of Ireland side will take on European and world champions Spain in a June friendly at Yankee Stadium in New York, according to a report in the Irish Examiner.

It was expected that Ireland would finish the season with a series of friendlies in the United States but it is now likely that there will be only one match, against Spain, on June 11.

The Boys in Green face England on May 29 in Wembley and Georgia in Dublin on June 2 before hosting the Faroe Islands on June 7 in World Cup qualification.
