Mark Quigley and Jason McGuinness made the headlines for swapping the west for Shamrock Rovers in the off-season but 23-year-old Aaron Greene seems to have settled quicker after he moved in the opposite direction.

The former Republic of Ireland under-21 international had scored just 12 league goals in four seasons before the busy Easter weekend but after opening his account for the campaign on Friday evening in Dalymount Park against Bohemians, the winger bagged a brace in Monday's victory over UCD.

Greene returned to the Showgrounds after a disappointing season with Shamrock Rovers in 2012 and already looks to be back to his best on the left wing.

After Raffaele Cretaro had opened the scoring against Bohemians, Greene doubled the visitors' lead with an unstoppable left foot drive before his double in Belfield made it six wins from six for Rovers.
