The highly-anticipated friendly clash between Drogheda United and Turkish "sister club" Trabzonspor has been called off due to adverse weather conditions.
With the match due to take place at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin, referee Derek Tomney made the decision to cancel the tie due to concerns over health and safety.
Tuesday evening's Airtricity Premier Division matches at the Carlisle Grounds and Richmond Park also suffered the same fate, with Dublin and the surrounding areas experiencing heavy rainfall all week.
A statement from the club read "Drogheda United sympathises in particular with the large numbers of fans who travelled from Turkey, across Europe and the UK to attend. It is deeply disappointing to the club that after many months of hard work in Ireland and in Turkey and with so many people whom we now consider to be our good friends having assisted us, the weather failed us all."
