The Super Blues' boss is adamant that his team will be competitive in the Airtricity Premier Division and has asked supporters to get fully behind the team through the season

Limerick manager Stuart Taylor has vowed that his team will give their all in the Airtricity Premier Division this season and urged supporters to get behind the players.

The Shannonsiders won promotion to the Premier Division after lifting the Airtricity First Division title in 2012 and new boss Taylor has assured supporters that his team will be 'competitive'.

"We will be competitive, no matter who we play against, we will be competitive," Taylor told the Limerick Leader. "My players will give 100 per cent. My backroom team staff will give 100 per cent. That is all you can give.

"You can have a bad day at the office, sometimes you may not feel great, for whatever reason it may be, your passing maybe a little bit off, or your touch a little bit poor, that happens."

Since his arrival at the club in January 2013, Taylor has bolstered the Limerick squad with the addition of several new players, including former Tranmere Rovers striker Craig Curran and Belgian forward Axel Bossekota.

Nevertheless, the Scottish tactician is not raising his expectations too high and has urged supporters to understand and get behind the team throughout the season.

He said: "We will wait and see what happens at the end of the season. We will set targets which we want to achieve as the season goes on. If we meet those we will be happy as a team and the supporters will be happy.

"I want the supporters to understand where we are coming from and what we are trying to achieve. We are all in it together.

"The supporters are massive for us. It has to be an intimidating place for people to come to," concluded Taylor.
