|Cup holders Crusaders must overturn a 1-0 defeat at Seaview on Monday March 4 if they are to have a chance to defend their trophy, after succumbing to an energetic Cork City outfit at Turners Cross in the first leg of the Quarter Final.
Crues entered the game with a weakened squad, with no less than six players unavailable due to suspensions, including club captain Colin Coates. However, the Shore Road club managed to test the Leesiders, with Jordan Owens causing the Cork defence trouble in the first half.
Mark McNulty almost gifted Crusaders a goal immediately after the re-start, when he passed the ball straight to the opposition, but David McMaster could not capitalise on the goalkeeper's error.
With the game nearing a close, two substitutes combined to give Cork the victory, as Adam Rundle's cross was met by Danny Morrissey who headed past Yohann Lacroix on 88 minutes to secure a 1-0 advantage for Tommy Dunne's side.
