By Tim Poole
23 Feb 2013 09:00:00
The 33-year-old former Chelsea wideman has extended his stay at Craven Cottage until 2014, and says that he has "loved" his time at the west London club so far
Fulham winger Damien Duff has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Craven Cottage until 2014.The former Republic of Ireland international, who joined the club in 2009, was one of 11 players whose contracts were set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
And Duff has revealed his delight at extending his stay in west London, expressing his belief that a top-10 finish is not out of Fulham’s reach this season.
“I’ve loved my time at Fulham since I joined the club more than three years ago, so I’m really happy that I am going to stay here for a further year,” he told the club’s official website.
“With 12 matches remaining this season, a top 10 finish is still possible and would represent another good season for the club as we aim to play in the Barclays Premier League for a 13th consecutive campaign.
“I will always give 100 per cent for the Chairman and the club, and I look forward to another season playing at Craven Cottage, which really is a special ground.”
The Irishman has scored three goals in 22 league games this season and has also provided eight assists.
