The Toffees boss believes that the return of the Republic of Ireland international can be a welcome boost for the Goodison Park side as they chase a Champions League spotEverton manager David Moyes has praised Darron Gibson's influential displays for the Toffees since joining the club from Manchester United.
The 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international has missed a portion of the season through injury but is set to play against his former club at Old Trafford on Sunday, February 10.
And Moyes believes that there is more to come from the midfielder, suggesting that his presence can be a boost to the club's prospects.
"He [Gibson] goes about his job quietly and efficiently, and does the job we require of him," Moyes told the club's official website. "I've always said that I'm looking for more from him and hopefully he will grow into that, but we have to remember that he has only been here a year and it will take time."
He continued: "He has missed a bit of this season with injury, which has been disappointing, but if we can get him playing until the end of the season he will be fresh.
"We could do with that, a couple of fresh players coming into the team and helping us," added the Everton boss.
Everton make the trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United, today, Sunday, February 10.
