The Young Boys in Green extended their unbeaten run to six games with a hard-fought draw with the Czech Republic at Flancare Park

Paul Doolin's Republic of Ireland under-19 side have played out a 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic at Flancare Park in Longford.

Czech Republic took the lead from a 23rd minute spot-kick by Vaclav Jurecka after Ireland captain Pierce Sweeney was penalised for a challenge on Petr Sevcik.

Ireland levelled at the beginning of the second half when Adam Evans crossed for Sam Byrne headed the ball past the Czech goalkeeper.

Former Bray Wanderers defender Sweeney almost atoned for conceding the penalty on the 47th minute but his header crashed off the cross bar.

Brandon Miele went close for Ireland on the 65th minute but his shot was saved by Jan Kotnour, while another shot from Miele struck the cross bar on 85 minutes. Neither side was able to find a winner and the match finished 1-1.
