Bolton Wanderers midfielder Keith Andrews was named Ireland's Senior International Player of the Year for 2012 at the '3/FAI' International Awards, which took place on Sunday, February 3.

The former Blackburn Rovers player, who featured nine times for Giovanni Trapattoni's Boys in Green in 2012, held off competition from Wolves striker Kevin Doyle and Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy to pick up the accolade.

Despite missing out on the senior award, James McCarthy was named the Young International Player of the Year, while Hull City winger Robbie Brady won the Under-21 International Player of the Year for the second year in a row, after scoring a record seven goals for Noel King's side.

Shamrock Rovers centre back Jason McGuinness picked up the Airtricity League Player of the Year for his part in Sligo Rovers' successful league campaign and former Waterford United striker Sean Maguire was named the FAI Schools International Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, former international Kevin Sheedy was inducted into the Hall of Fame, where he joins Ray Houghton, Frank Stapleton and Ray Treacy.
