Dons manager Neil Ardley has made enquiries about the possibility of signing the Dundalk forward after a deal with Derry City fell through
The Candystripes could not agree compensation with Dundalk for the Australian-born forward, and AFC Wimbledon have been alerted to his availability. Dons manager Neil Ardley admitted interest in Griffin, and that preliminary enquiries had been made. "We had some footage sent across to have a look at," Griffin told the Evening Herald. "We tried to speak to the FAI to see what his situation was, but so far we haven't heard anything back. He's not someone we've spoken to our board about, so any move is still a long way down the line."
Meanwhile, York City have offered a trial to Derry City's David McDaid, who has recently been linked with moves to Sligo Rovers and Fleetwood Town.
