The former Derry City and Persepolis Tehran striker has opted against a move to Limerick in order to remain in Iran with Aluminum Hormozgan
The 29-year-old striker, who joined Persepolis Tehran at the end of 2011, had been linked with a move to Airtricity Premier Division side Limerick, but has opted to remain in Iran by agreeing a contract with Akbar Misagian's side.
Speaking to the Tehran Times, Aluminum boss Misagian said that there were 'high expectations' of the Libya international.
"I know there are high expectations from the fans after we signed (Iran international) Milad Meydavoudi and Eamon Zayed," he said.
Zayed began his career at Leicester City before joining Bray Wanderers in 2002. The Dublin-born attacker enjoyed spells with Drogheda United, Sporting Fingal and Derry City before moving to Persepolis in December 2011.
