Robbie Keane would be 'ideal' admits Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp

The QPR boss is unsure about who he will sign in January but admitted that MLS would be an 'interesting' market, saying that the Irish striker would be 'ideal'
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that Robbie Keane would be an 'ideal' signing but said that he was unsure whether a move would materialise.

The 32-year-old striker played under Redknapp at Tottenham Hotspur before signing for LA Galaxy in 2011. He enjoyed a brief loan spell with Aston Villa at the beginning of 2012 during the MLS off season and Redknapp suggested that he would be interested in the Republic of Ireland captain.

"I don’t know if money is available, and we’ll probably be looking at loans, but which club is going to lend you top players?" he told the Irish Examiner.

He continued: "It’s hard. The MLS is interesting, though. I think that’s a market we’ve got to look at. Robbie’s a good shout, an interesting player. I haven’t spoken to him yet but he would be ideal."

Keane was recently included in the 2012 MLS Team of the Year after topping the LA Galaxy scoring charts with 22 goals.
