thumbnail Hello,

The 20-year-old defender, who can play left back or in the centre of defence, joins Shels after two years in Tallaght

Shelbourne have continued to prepare for the new Airtricity Premier Division season with the signing of defender Jack Memery from Shamrock Rovers.

The 20-year-old featured for the Hoops' under-20 and "A" sides but struggled to break into the first team after joining from Crumlin United in 2009.

Memery can play at either centre back or left back and will add versatility to Shels' defence for the 2013 season.

He becomes the sixth player to put pen to paper on a contract for the upcoming campaign at Tolka Park after manager Alan Mathews tied down the services of trio Philip Hughes, Glenn Cronin and Stephen Hurley while Sean Brennan and Pat Flynn have joined from Drogheda and St Patrick's Athletic respectively.

Mathews is expecting to announce further signings in the coming weeks.
