Trio commit to league winners Sligo

Three more players have re-joined the club as they attempt to win the league title back to back for the first time in the their history.

Airtricity League champions Sligo Rovers have moved to secure the services of three of their title winning side from last season. Joseph Ndo, Ross Gaynor and Lee Lynch have all signed new contracts at the Showgrounds for the 2013 campaign.

36-year-old Ndo has played 108 times for the Bit o’ Red since moving from Bohemians in March 2010. The Cameroon international was an integral part of Ian Baraclough’s side who secured the first league title for the club in 35 years. The veteran midfielder has won four trophies during his time in the West.

Meanwhile, Gaynor and Lynch, who both featured 36 times last season for the Bit o’ Red, have also committed themselves to the club after joining Rovers in January 2012 from Dundalk and Drogheda respectively.

Gaynor, who is a Republic of Ireland U21 international, starred in both midfield and defence for Rovers while contributing eleven assists throughout the season.

20-year-old Lynch turned in some impressive performances in midfield and becomes the eleventh player to put pen to paper on a new deal at the Showgrounds.

Elsewhere, Aaron Greene has left Shamrock Rovers as new manager Trevor Croly begins to assemble his squad for the new season. St. Patrick’s Athletic and Drogheda United are among those interested in the signature of the 22-year-old but a move across the Irish Sea could be on the cards, according to the Evening Herald.
