Cork City Football Club have announced the signing of striker Daryl Kavanagh from Shamrock Rovers.
Kavanagh spent the 2012 season at Shamrock Rovers, after a successful season with St Patrick’s Athletic in 2011.
Commenting on the signing, Cork City manager Tommy Dunne said: “I am familiar with Daryl, as he has played against us a number of times over the past couple of years with Waterford, St Pat’s and Shamrock Rovers. He is a very good player and caused us many problems when playing against us.
“He is coming to Cork City at a very good age. He is a very creative striker, with a good work rate. I am hoping that he will settle in Cork and become a fixture in our team over next number of years.”
Speaking to CorkCityFC.net shortly after signing a two year deal with the club this evening, the 26-year-old said: “I am delighted to have signed for the club. Cork City has always been a massive club and I think the club is getting back to where it used to be.
“Having spoken to Tommy, I know that his aim is to get the club back to the top and that is my aim too.”
Daryl will be officially unveiled at Carroll’s Irish Gift Store, 10 St Patrick’s Street, Cork at 9:30 am on Thursday, November 15.
