Trapattoni sweating on Keane fitness for Republic of Ireland

The LA Galaxy striker missed out on Friday's 6-1 defeat to Germany with an Achilles injury and is still a doubt for the upcoming clash with the Faroe Islands
Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has revealed he is unsure whether Robbie Keane will return from injury in time for his country’s clash with the Faroe Islands.

Keane missed on Friday's embarrassing 6-1 defeat at the hands of Germany at the Aviva Stadium after sustaining an Achilles injury in training.

And the former Liverpool striker is now a doubt for the Boys in Green's next World Cup qualifier against the Group C minnows on Tuesday.

25/1 Republic of Ireland are 25/1 to beat the Faroe Islands 5-0 with Paddy Power
“After tomorrow we can decide,” Trapattoni told the Score, referring to a fitness test Keane will undergo on October 13.

Despite doubts over Keane, the Italian announced that he has an otherwise full-strength squad to pick from.
